SignalWorks is based in the north of Scotland. And that matters.

This is a country with a long tradition of asking clear, practical questions about how the world really works and how people behave within it. During the Scottish Enlightenment, thinkers like David Hume and Adam Smith studied human behaviour not through abstract theory or moral preaching, but through observation.

They looked at how people actually make decisions, how societies organise themselves, and how markets emerge from everyday human interaction. Their conclusion was both simple and revolutionary. If you want to understand the world, start with human nature.

Today, these ideas continue in fields such as behavioural science, evolutionary psychology and marketing science. Different disciplines, but the same core principle runs through them all. Human behaviour follows patterns. If we observe those patterns carefully enough, we can understand how decisions are made and how behaviour can be influenced.
